Pickford Presents Fall Sports Awards
13 Seniors Honored During Athletic Ceremony

Pickford High School's Fall Sports Awards Night was Thursday, November 30, 2006. The school typically holds its annual athletic banquet in the spring, but the event was growing so large the school decided to try splitting it into two different awards nights this school year. Athletic Director Chuck Bennin declared the event "a huge success, with over 200 relatives, friends, and athletes in attendance."

Fall athletics awards were given to students in the following sports:

Girls Varsity Basketball

Coach Becky Arbic and assistant coach Jim Tamlyn commended the service of managers Camden Ledy and Kayla Massey. The Most Valuable Players are Veronica Gough and Jessie Ledy. The Sportsmanship Award was given to Alli Priskorn. The Most Improved player was Courtney Bruni. The Outstanding Defense award went to Renae Reich. Coach's Awards were given to Chelsey O'Connor and Caitlin Mortinsen.

Girls JV Basketball

Coach Susan Malone commended managers Erica Leach and Leigha Dilday, and distributed the following awards: Most Improved: Genie Gagnon and Callie Smith. Most Valuable: Jasmine Ledy. Outstanding Defense: Krista Esslin. Sportsmanship Award: Abby Rose.

Junior Varsity Football

Coach Dan Rye and assistant coach Drew Paquin gave awards to manager Aaron Dilday. Most Valuable Player: Dylan Rye. Most Valuable Lineman: Ben Eckola.

Varsity Football

Coach Josh Rader and assistant coaches Tom Ball and Gregg Chromy commended manager Jack Slater, and distributed the following awards: All Conference Awards: Jordan Potter, Mickael Cantin, Jason King, Caleb Rader, Joe Jenkins, and Allen Orr. All Conference Honorable Mention went to Allen Orr, Scott Coullard, Jason King, and Caleb Rader. Varsity Sportsmanship Award: Scott Coullard. Varsity Outstanding Lineman: Jordan Potter. Varsity Outstanding Offense: Caleb Rader. Varsity Outstanding Defense: Jason King. Varsity Most Valuable: Caleb Rader. Most Improved: Kyle Barry.

Cross Country

Coaches Gerald Rairigh and assistant coach Andy Raden gave the Most Valuable Boy Award to Nic Raden and the Most Valuable Girl Award to Kristen Schmitigal.

The winter and spring sports awards ceremony will be held sometime in May.
