Pickford Names December Students of the Month

Katelynn Walker, Matt Rose, Brittany Miller, and Krista Esslin were named December Students of the Month at Pickford High School.

Katelynn Walker, 17, daughter of Thomas and Patricia Walker, is a member of National Honor Society, Pep Band, and Praise Band at her church. She is a senior at Pickford High School. She enjoys band and zoology most of all her school subjects, and enjoys drawing, reading, and playing electric guitar.

She has a sister, Erin, and enjoys a part-time job working on contracting jobs with her father. The person she admires most is Amelia Earhart, she said, for achieving her goals.

Miss Walker hopes to work as a zoologist.

Matt Rose, 17, the son of Steve and Jillena Rose, is a student in 11th grade who most enjoys his biology, English, and computer aided design classes. He is a member of the FCOC Youth Group, 4- H, and YAC group and plays football, basketball, and track. He enjoys hunting, running, and biking.

He works part-time as a farm hand. He has two sisters, Rachel and Abby. The people he admires most, he said, are "soldiers who protect our country and freedom every day."

Mr. Rose plans to attend college following high school graduation.

Brittany Miller, 15, daughter of Jim and Linda Miller, enjoys physical education and English most of her 10th grade classes. She is a member of Family Career and Community Leaders of America and enjoys scrapbooking, camping, and music. She has a part-time babysitting job.

Miss Miller has two siblings, Nathan and Christy, and a nephew, Nicholas. She said the person she admires most is her mother.

Her career goal is to become an ultrasound technician.

Krista Esslin, 14, daughter of Kim and Dave Esslin, is a freshman at Pickford High, where she enjoys mathematics, physical science, and computer applications most of all her classes. She is an honor roll student. She is a member of Noah's Ark 4-H Club and enjoys playing basketball, going to the beach, four-wheeling, and spending time with friends and family.

Her siblings are Kourtlyn, Dustin, Conrad, and Davey.

Miss Esslin's career interests are in law and accounting.
