LaSalle Boys Defeat Gaylord, Alpena; Girls Fall in Bowling

The LaSalle High School boys bowling team improved to 3-0 on the season after victories over Gaylord Blue Devils and Alpena, while the LaSalle girls team, 1-1 on the season, dropped its match to Cheboygan during Northern Michigan Bowling Conference play at Gaylord Saturday, January 13.

Wildcats The St. Ignace boys won both baker (420/337) games 192 to 148 and 228 to 189 against the host Gaylord Blue Devils team.

Jamin Corwin bowled a two-game series of 445 (245- 200), and Chris Binger totaled 436 (202-234) for 2-0 records while Trestin Fogelsonger notched a score of 185 and Jeffrey Gamble 184 for 1-0 marks. Andy Mullins totaled a twogame series of 427 (223-204) and Derek Rutledge scored 345 (134- 211) for 1-1 records.

The Saints defeated the Wildcats of Alpena in baker (397/358) scoring 210 to 189 and 187 to 169 during their second match.

Derek Rutledge went 2-0 against Alpena with a score of 406 (197-209) in the series. Trestin Fogelsonger earned a 1-0-1 record with a total score of 329, Chris Binger 1-0 at 207, Jeffrey Gamble 1-1 at 306, and Jamin Corwin 0-2 at 360 (150-210).

Fall to Chiefs

The St. Ignace girls lost both baker games, 124 to 150 and 123 to 157, against Cheboygan.

During individual matches, Anna Krause went 1-0 with a score of 149, Desi Allan 1-1 with two game series of 273 (136-137), Misty Gamble 1-1 at 259, and going 0-1 were Melissa Brown 114, Meghann Colegrove 148, and Sara Tafelski 114 and Brooke Allan 0-2 with 239 (124-115).

St. Ignace will travel to Alpena, with the boys battling Cheboygan and Rogers City and the girls facing Alpena and Rogers City, Saturday, January 20.
