Mandi Johnson Earns 2nd GLIAC Player of Week

Senior basketball player Mandi Johnson of St. Ignace earned her second Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) North Division Player of the Week after leading the Lake Superior State University Lakers to victories over Northern Michigan University and Michigan Technological University.

Johnson is ranked third in scoring in the GLIAC with an 18.8- points-per-game average. She also leads the league in steals with 42, and is fourth in rebounding with an 8.2 average.

LSSU Falls to GVSU

Lake Superior State University dropped its first Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contest, falling to Grand Valley State University 84-67 Thursday, January 11.

Mandi Johnson scored 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds for the Lakers, who stand 6-1 in the league.

Lakers Down Lions

Lake Superior State University improved to 11-4 overall after defeating Finlandia University of Hancock 102-40 Saturday, January 13.

Mandi Johnson scored 12 points for the Lakers.
