Police Reports Reports from the St. Ignace Police Department from December 27 to December January 13: Negaunee 9-1-1 dispatch received two hang-up calls at Glen's Market in St. Ignace Friday, December 29. Officers spoke with a store employee and were told there was no emergency. The employee said no one was around the lobby telephone at the time. A downtown business owner reported to police Tuesday, January 2, that the lock at her business had been tampered with. She also reported that for the past two weeks someone had taken the light bulbs off the pole in front of the building and had broken them in front of the building's entrance. Police are investigating the theft of a tow truck between January 2 and 3. Police found the wrecker on the corner of Mary and Goudreau streets with its hood up and a dead battery. Police have no witnesses. An elderly St. Ignace woman received a citation for failing to stop her vehicle for a school bus on Chambers Street Wednesday, January 3. The woman apologized to police and said that she thought she did not have to stop because she was driving on the other side of the road. Police located a 16-year-old St. Ignace boy who had been missing from home Saturday, January 6. An abandoned black, 1996 Chrysler Concorde was towed to the local salvage yard from a parking lot at a St. Ignace business. Police found that the vehicle's plate belonged on a 1988 Ford station wagon registered to a St. Ignace woman. A Cheboygan woman was ordered by police to pay fines and the cost of service totaling $96.09 at a St. Ignace business Monday, January 8, after writing a personal check with insufficient funds. A St. Ignace man was arrested Wednesday, January 10, for domestic assault on his girlfriend. The man was lodged at the Mackinac County Jail. ASt. Ignace resident complained to police about a barking dog on Burdette Street late Wednesday, January 10. Upon arrival at the dog owner's house, police found no one was home and the dog was not barking. No further action was taken. A St. Ignace man called police after receiving harassing telephone calls Thursday morning, January 11. Police advised the man to file a complaint with the phone company and request a trace on the phone to locate where the calls are coming from. Police warned a St. Ignace man to not stir up any more trouble at a local restaurant Saturday, January 13, after staff at the restaurant called police to remove him. Staff told police the man was intoxicated. A St. Ignace woman reported to police she had noticed footprints and an empty liquor bottle in her driveway Saturday, January 13. Police informed her that they would frequently patrol around the area that night. A 41-year-old St. Ignace woman was warned by police Saturday, January 13, to stop calling a 20- year-old woman with accusations that she stole pills. From December 27 to January 13, police were called on two incidents to assist medical technicians, responded to one false alarm, and cited one minor for illegal possession of alcohol. |
