First Place in the State!
Cheer America Team Tops Competitors

Lydia Massaway (from left), Hayley Dumas, and Sheridan Bigger of St. Ignace took first place at the state level in a Cheer America competition in Grand Rapids Saturday, January 20. The cheerleaders competed in Division Two, for ages six to eight, coached by Staci Nelson of St. Ignace. The theme of their presentation was "Shrek." The young cheerleaders and their families advanced to the state finals after taking first place in a regional competition at Indian River December 16.
