Cedarville High School To Host Annual Feb. Carnival

Cedarville High School will host its annual carnival Friday night, February 2, at Les Cheneaux Community Schools in Cedarville.

Often held in the fall, the carnival was moved to the winter because it fit in the school schedule better.

Activities will take place throughout the school, in classrooms, both gymnasiums, and the commons and cafeteria areas.

The event is a major fundraiser for the school, with participating classes and programs receiving a portion of the proceeds for activities.

Student Council and the Music Department are among the programs that participate and receive some of the money.

The carnival will offer the popular cake walk, and other games, concessions, and crowning of the Carnival King and Queen.

Game and raffle tickets are being sold by high school students, and the class that sells the most tickets will be named the winning class.

The candidates representing the winning class will be named the king and queen. Eight king and queen candidates have been selected by their respective classes, and royalty will be crowned at the end of the carnival.

The candidates for the freshman class are Casey Sherlund and David Plank. Sophomore candidates are Kacie Simpson and Clayton Meyers. Junior candidates are Kate Koster and Preston Nightlinger. Senior candidates are Ashley Dresbach and Keith Foster.

Those who want to buy advance tickets can contact a high school student or the Cedarville High School office at (906) 484-2256, extension 1. Tickets can also be purchased at the door.
