Patricia Slocum Patricia Slocum, 82, of Grand Rapids, formerly of Gros Cap, died January 15, 2007. She was the daughter of Alfred Corp and Amelia (nee Cheeseman) Corp and was graduated from the Ursuline Academy in St. Ignace in 1943. In 1964, she married Kenneth Slocum at Sacred Heart Church in Gros Cap, in the last wedding held in the church before the building was sold. Mrs. Slocum is survived by her husband, Kenneth W. Slocum, 91, a military veteran of the Pearl Harbor bombing of December 1941; a sisterin law, Evelyn Corp of St. Ignace; her nieces and their families, Connie Corp, Christine Arbib, Margaret Huskey, Rosemary and Leonard Adams, all of St. Ignace, and Catherine and Terry Nayback of Grand Rapids; and a nephew and his family, Darryl and Pat Frasier of Kalamazoo. Mrs. Slocum was preceded in death by her brothers, Edward, Richard, and Leone, her sisters, Alice White, Leona Frasier, Grace Corp, and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Slocum was an active member of Our Lady of Sorrows and the Third Order of St. Francis, and the American Legion Auxiliary, all in Grand Rapids. A memorial was held Friday, January 19, at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. |
