Pickford Places Second at Onaway

Pickford Panthers varsity volleyball team finished second during the Onaway Invitational, as Courtney Bruni was named the tournament's best player Saturday, January 27.

The Panthers finished 8-4 on the day and 6-2 in pool play after sweeping Johannesburg-Lewiston (25-14 and 25-16), Hillman (25-19 and 25-24), and splitting with Mackinaw City (17-25 and 25-19) and the host Cardinals (25-24 and 12-25).

Pickford upended Harbor Springs 25-15 and 25-21 in the semifinals before falling to Boyne City in the championship match, 20- 25 and 24-26.

Panthers Fall to Blue Devils

Pickford fell to Sault Ste. Marie 16-25, 25-16, 20-25, and 14-25 Monday, January 22.
