Will To Work as Customs Agent

Jason Will, 23, of St. Ignace, is training to become an agent for the United States Customs and Border Protection agency. After training, he will be stationed in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Orientation for Mr. Will will be held in Minneapolis Tuesday, February 20. He will then travel to Georgia for training March 15, where he will remain until June 26. After training, he will return to Minneapolis to begin work.

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection is the largest uniformed law enforcement agency in the country. It stations 18,000 officers at access points around the country, land, air, and sea ports. It protects more than 5,000 miles of border with Canada, 1,900 miles of border with Mexico, and patrols 95,000 miles of shoreline.

Mr. Will is a 2001 graduate of LaSalle High School in St. Ignace and a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving from 2001 to 2005. He was stationed at Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota. His mother is Carrie Will of St. Ignace.
