Jerome 'Fox' Lee
Jerome "Fox" C. Lee, 76, of St. Ignace, died Sunday evening, February 11, 2007, at Mackinac Straits Hospital.

He was born in St. Ignace June 26, 1930. His parents were Charles and Nellie Lee.

For more than 20 years Mr. Lee worked as a coal tender for the car ferry Chief Wawatam. He also operated the Union 76 gas station and Total station on West US-2.

Baseball was one of Mr. Lee's favorite pastimes, both as a fan and a player. He was considered an outstanding fast-pitch softball player and an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers and baseball in general.

Mr. Lee is survived by his eight children and their families, Angela and David Litzner of St. Ignace, Tammy Lee of St. Ignace, Mike and Lisa Lee of Moran, Jerome Jr. and Shari Lee of Hessel, Patrick and Lois Lee of St. Ignace, Bob and Samara Lee of St. Ignace, Timmy and Diana Lee of St. Ignace; a sister, June Douville of St. Ignace; sisters-in-law, Opal Lee of St. Ignace, Harriet Lee of Liberty, Indiana, and Barbara Lee of Fort Wayne, Indiana; 15 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Iva, Helen, Henry, Duane, Calvin, Jack, and Charles.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 15, at Faith Baptist Church. Pastors Giles Litzner and Earl Bercott will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Burial will be in Gros Cap Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials may be directed to the LaSalle High School baseball program. Dodson Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
