Volleyball: DeTour Takes Tourney; Eagles Beat Indians

Tournament With 9-1 Record

The DeTour varsity volleyball team captured the championship title at the Ellsworth Invitational, going 9-1 during tournament play Saturday, February 3. Raiders seniors Kelley Tomlinson and Missy Ellis were named to the all-tournament team.

The Raiders, coached by Sara Galarowic, swept Northern Michigan Christian Academy, Gaylord St. Mary, and then the host Lancers in two-game series. They split with Northport, posting the team's tournament record after pool play at 7-1.

DeTour downed the Snowbirds of Gaylord St. Mary in the opening round of bracket play and downed Ellsworth in the title match.

Engadine Volleyball Improves

to 15-4-4 on Season

Engadine's varsity volleyball team improved to 15-4-4 overall on the season after sweeping Newberry 25-16, 25-21, and 28-26 T h u r s d a y , February 8.

Eagles JV Down Indians Engadine junior varsity lost in the first game 20-25 to Newberry but stormed back to win the next two sets, 25-16 and 15-9, improving its record to 7-3-4.
