Panthers Down Bays in EUPC

Pickford outscored Brimley 42-23 in the second half en route to a 70-56 Eastern Upper Peninsula Conference win Tuesday, February 6.

The Bays led 21-14 after the first eight minutes before the Panthers held a 14-12 scoring edge in the second quarter to cut the Brimley lead to 33-28 at halftime.

The Panthers offensive exploded for a 20-6 advantage in the third quarter for a 48-39 lead and closed out the win with a 22- 17 score in the final period.

Panthers Stats: Mc- Kinley Portice, 23 points; Jamie Nettleton, 14 points; Paul Walsh and Kyle Barry, 11 points; Pat Savoie, seven points; Ray Hill and Jordan Potter, two points.

Bays Stats: Ryan Freedman, 23 points; Nate Mills, 10 points; Preston Parish, nine points; Chris Carrick, eight; Michael Graham, four points; Nashoba Stobnicke, two points.

B u r t o n Gough scored 15 and Mickael Canton added 14 to lead Pickford to a 43-41 win over Brimley in the junior varsity game.

Bays Fall to St. Basil

Brimley fell to 1-13 on the season after St. Basil of Ontario defeated the Bays 51-48 Friday, February 9.

Brimley led 16-14 after the first eight minutes and held a 29- 26 halftime lead after a 13-12 edge in the second quarter.

The third quarter was the key, as the Saints outscored the Bays 16-8 to take a 42-37 lead before Brimley closed the margin with an 11-9 score in the final period.
