First Vessel of Shipping Season Delayed by Blizzard-like Lake Conditions
At Cedarville's McKay Bay
Ducks, geese, and gulls that were attracted to McKay Bay in Cedarville by the rapid spring thaw may have been surprised by the sudden drop in temperature and snowfall Wednesday, April 4, and Thursday, April 5. In the distance, the Oglebay Norton shipping dock on the bay remains empty, as the first vessel of the shipping season that was anticipated Thursday morning did not arrive. It was detained in Marquette, owing to blizzard-like conditions on the lakes.
