Area High School Graduates Shine on Collegiate Track Scene

Katie Spencer, St. Ignace sophomore at Albion College, finished first with a personal best of 127'7" in the discus and fourth in the shot put during a home meet against Hope and Adrian Colleges Saturday, April 21.

She also took second in the discus throw with a mark of 115'3" and eighth place in the shot put during an eight-team home invitational Friday, April 6, and finished second in both the discus and shot put during a home meet against Olivet and Alma Saturday, April 14.

Paul Davis, 2006 graduate of LaSalle High School, is a member of the Lake Superior State University (LSSU) track team and was part of the record-setting 400-meter relay team that included Jordan Baker, Travis Baril, and Darryl Byrge, all freshmen at LSSU. The former Saints stand-out has competed in the 100-meter dash with a personal best time of 11.5 seconds and the 200-meter dash in 22.59 seconds this season for the Lakers.
