DeWick Named Presidential Scholar Caroline DeWick of St. Ignace was among 46 Western Michigan University seniors named a Presidential Scholar, the highest honor presented to undergraduates at the university. She is the daughter of Brian and Elisabeth DeWick. Studying family and consumer sciences, Miss DeWick expects to be graduated in April. She is a member of Lee Honors College, and her areas of academic interest include interior design, architecture, design management, and resource conservation standards. Following graduation, she plans to pursue a career in commercial design before continuing in her studies for a graduate degree. While at the university, she served an internship with Custer Workplace Interiors, and is designing a dance academy for her honors thesis. She has completed the architectural design portion of the project and is in the process of renovating a downtown Kalamazoo building into a center for performing arts. Miss DeWick has received numerous academic awards and honors, including a scholarship that funded a two-week educational tour of Brazil. |
