Lisa Irene (nee Hatfield) Hrusovsky of Palmerton, Pennsylvania was a former Pickford resident who grew up there and was graduated with the Pickford High School Class of 1983. She served 22 years in the United States Army, after joining while she was still in high school. She retired in 2005 after attaining the rank of First Sergeant.
Mrs. Hrusovsky was 42 when she died as the result of an automobile accident Monday, April 23, 2007, in Salisbury Township, Pennsylvania.
She was born March 22, 1965, in Sault Ste. Marie.
While she was in Pickford, she was active in many school activities and in Michigan State University's 4-H youth program.
After she joined the U.S. Army, she was a recruiter for most of her military career. Friends and family remember her as "a friendly, outgoing, 'people person,' who loved to travel." Out of respect for Mrs. Hrusovsky's wish to help others, she became an organ donor.
She is survived by her husband, Richard C. Hrusovsky; a stepdaughter, Maya Hrusovsky; a stepson, Richard T. Hrusovsky; her parents, James L. Sr. and Delores F. Hatfield of Cedarville; a sister, Nancy Brooks of Floyd's Knob, Indiana; a brother and his family, James Jr. and Marlene Hatfield of Pickford; her grandmother, Irene Alto of Cedarville; two nieces, Karen I. and Robert Siple and Melissa Floyd, and four nephews, Ryan Floyd, Matthew Floyd, James Hatfield III, and Jacob Hatfield.
