Records Set During St. Ignace Junior High Track Meet Louis Set New Jr. High Track Records Grace Wheeler and Austin St. Louis set new St. Ignace junior high high jump records during a home meet Monday, April 23. Wheeler reached a height of 4'8" and Austin St. Louis at 5'4" to lead the way for the Saints track teams. St. Ignace captured 21 firstplace finishes as both the girls and boys won the 400-, 800-, 1600-, and 3200-meter relay races. Wheeler won the 800-meter race along with the high jump; Nicole Elmblad won the pole vault and took fourth in the 200; Heather Beaudoin won the high hurdles, and Mikaela Kelly won the 1600-meter dash for the girls. Placing first for the boys was Devin Chargo in the 3200-meter run; Ben Paul in the 1600; Gunner Zipp in the 100; Drew Duffie in the 400; Caleb Litzner in the low hurdles; Landon Oliver in the pole vault, and Gage Christenson in the long jump. Finishing second for the girls were Taylor Becker in the 400, Lauren Goldthorpe in the high jump and low hurdles, Lauren Winkelman in the long jump. For the boys Ryan Thompson in the pole vault, Corey Nelson in the long jump, and Luke Thurston in the shot put. Placing third were Miranda Beaudoin in the 400, Curtis Gustin in the high hurdles, Nate Montie in the 70-meter dash, and Taylor Closs in the shot put. Placing fourth was Miranda Beaudoin in the 100, Abby Chambers in the 70, Angela Fisher in the low hurdles, Samantha Morris in the shot put, Nate Montie in the 400, and Aaron Salvador in the 70-meter dash. |
