Public Invited on Trail Hike May 12

The public is invited to participate in a hike and trail maintenance outing Saturday, May 12, at 10 a.m., starting at the Tahquamenon River Mouth boat access parking area, across from the River Mouth Campground Entrance. The hike will continue for nine miles to Tahquamenon Lower Falls.

The activity has been organized by the Hiawatha Shore-To- Shore Chapter of the North Country Trail Association, which schedules monthly hikes and activities for Eastern Upper Peninsula hikers and families of all ages and skill levels the second Saturday of each month. Leaders will be available for hikes of varying lengths.

Saturday's hike will include optional light maintenance along the trail. Tools and leadership will be provided.

Participants should dress for the weather and expect low, wet terrain areas. Bring plenty of snacks and water.
