Betty Hudson

Betty Hudson
Betty Marie Hudson, 84, of Cedarville, with her husband, Lyle, owned and operated Hudson's Hardware in Cedarville for 63 years. Mrs. Hudson died Thursday, May 3, 2007, at Jamieson Nursing Home in Harrisville.

She was born June 23, 1922, in Hessel, to William and Mildred (nee Johnson) McFadden. She was valedictorian of the Cedarville High School Class of 1940.

She married Lyle Edward Hudson October 25, 1940, in Sault Ste. Marie. The couple owned a soda bar in downtown Cedarville for a short time before establishing Hudson's Hardware.

Mrs. Hudson was a member of the Hessel Presbyterian Church, Law-White VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and was active in the Michigan Retail Hardware Association.

She enjoyed golfing and traveling around the country in the couple's motor home.

She is survived by a daughter and her family, Sharon and John Wojnaroski of Oscoda, a son and his family, Ronald and Linda Hudson of Cedarville, and two granddaughters and their families, Teresa and Ray Wood of Toledo, Ohio, and Melissa Mary Wojnaroski of Ann Arbor. Also surviving are one sister, Ann Moss of Hessel, and one brother, Edward McFadden of Hartville, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle, who died March 7, 2004.

Visitation was Friday, May 4, from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Saturday, May 5, at 10 a.m. Aservice was held Saturday at 11 a.m., officiated by the Reverend Judith Arnold. Visitation and service were at Reamer Galer Funeral Home in Pickford.

Burial was at Cedar Cemetery in Clark Township.
