St. Ignace Mud Run Is Saturday

Trucks and all terrain vehicles (ATVs) will compete in a Mud Run hosted by the St. Ignace Area Chamber of Commerce Saturday, May 19, behind Little Bear East Arena in St. Ignace.

Drivers will compete for time and distance in various classes of mud pit events on a track shaped like a numeral 9. City employees, Chamber of Commerce staff, and volunteers have prepared the track and bleachers. The event has been advertised at similar runs in the state, said Chamber Director Janet Peterson, so a good turn-out of competitors is expected.

ATVs will begin competing at 9 a.m., while trucks will begin at noon. Registration costs $20 per division and takes place on site the day of the run. All proceeds from registration fees will be distributed as prize money.

Food concessions, T-shirts, and a children's jump house will be available on site.

Admission is $5 per person; free for children younger than 12.
