Tai chi classes will be offered this summer at Les Cheneaux Community Schools in Cedarville. Classes will begin Monday, June 4, and will continue for 10 weeks thereafter, meeting Mondays from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Participants must register as soon as possible, no later than the week before the class, to ensure there are enough people to hold the class.
Call Kate Ter Haar at (906) 484-2256 or Judy Mock at (906) 484-3408 to register, or send email to kterhaar@eup.k12.mi.us.
Tai Chi is an ancient, non-competitive, self-paced system of gentle
physical exercise. Tai chi is performed in a defined series of postures or movements in a slow, graceful manner.
Each movement or posture flows into the next without pausing.
Tai chi has been used for centuries to reduce stress, increase flexibility, improve muscle strength and definition, increase energy, stamina, and agility, and promote well-being.
The class will meet at Les Cheneaux Community Schools cafeteria. Cost is $75 for the 10- week session taught by Paula VanderMey of Newberry.
