Ron Calery of CAA Honored for Advocacy Work

Ron Calery of the Community Action Agency received the 2007 Terrace R. Durvernay Award at the Michigan Conference on Affordable Housing in Lansing May 1.

He was cited for advocacy for those in need, dedication to helping the less fortunate, and efforts to provide people with affordable housing. Advocates in the affordable housing and community development industry were honored at an awards luncheon at the Lansing Center.

Mr. Calery has worked for a number of social service agencies and is the executive director of the Chippewa-Luce-Mackinac Community Action Agency.

Recognized as a pinnacle for any career in the industry, the Terrance R. Durvernay Award commemorates the lifelong commitment of the past executive director of the Michigan State Housing Development Authority.
