Meeting To Decide Future of Tourist Association

The future of the Les Cheneaux Islands Tourist Association will be discussed at a Wednesday, May 23, meeting at Cedarville Inn at 5:15 p.m.

Les Cheneaux Islands area residents, business owners, and all interested people are asked to present their opinions and ideas about how to promote the area through the postal service, e-mail, Web site content, and the Welcome Center.

The poor economy is threatening the future of the organization, however, which depends on a local room tax charged to raise money for tourism promotion in the area and Michigan.

Anyone who plans to attend the meeting is asked to call the Welcome Center at (906) 484-3935 to sign up.
