Matthew Scott Wendt of Pickford worked for several area farmers and loved riding his horse, King, in Pickford's Community Days Parade. He enjoyed working on cars, and being outdoors, camping, fishing, and riding snowmobiles, mini bikes, and motorbikes. Mr. Wendt was 20 years old when he died February 28, 1996.
He was born April 6, 1975, in Saginaw. He attended Marlette and Pickford schools.
Mr. Wendt is survived by one son, Matthew Scott Wendt Jr.; his mother, Dona Jean (nee Lockwood) Wendt of Pickford; his father and his family, David Michael and Mona Wendt Sr. of Flint; two sisters and their families, Bonnie and Robert Spicer of Port Huron, and Lucinda "Cindy" and Donald Heck of Brimley; one brother, David Wendt of Pickford; his grandfather, Donald Davidson; five nieces and nephews, Robert Spicer, Crystal Spicer, Jennifer Spicer, Hunter Heck, and Marissa Wendt; a great-niece, Jaylyn, and a great-nephew, Jason.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Angela Jean Wendt, and his grandparents, Maynard Lockwood, Ida Lockwood, Jean Davidson, and Leo DeLaverne.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
