Rudyard Singers Earn Top Marks

Rudyard High School's vocal students earned top ratings at the Michigan School Vocal Music Association State Vocal Solo and Ensemble Festival in Marquette Friday, April 20, and Saturday, April 21.
Students who earned second place ratings at the state level included Briana Kangas and Isiah Otten for their duets and Kari Ortiz for her solo performances. Students who earned first place ratings included Emily Couling for her solos; Alyssa Sexton and Emily Couling for their duets; and the Rudyard High School Girls Ensemble for their two selections. Members of the girls ensemble include Elizabeth Jacobus, Kari Ortiz, Sara English, Briana Kangas, Alyssa Sexton, Melissa Mills, Maria Meehan, Amanda Hoolsema, and Alicia Clark.
Accompanists for the singers included David Erfourth, Emily Couling, and Elizabeth Jacobus.
