Eagles, Trojans Take Track Titles at Formolo Invitational May 11

The Engadine Eagles girls track team edged out the Cedarville Trojans, although the Trojans boys team captured top honors during the annual Frank Formolo/ Engadine Booster Track and Field Invitational Friday, May 11.

Eagles Squeak by Trojans

Engadine, with 105.5 total points, tallied seven firsts, four seconds, four thirds, two fourths, and four fifth places. Cedarville, with 102 points, notched three firsts, nine seconds, three thirds, five fourths, and two fifths. Brimley followed with 89 points, Mackinac Island 12.5 points, and DeTour 5 points.

Engadine: Elicia Derusha- first in the 800-meter run (2:32.90), and 1600 (5:52.30), second in the shot put.; Shauni Rutledge- first in the shot put (31'10") and discus (82'5"); Lauren MacArthur- first in the long jump (13'8") and high jump (4'4"), third in the high hurdles.

The 3200-meter relay (Brenda Albrecht, Shannon Browning, Kayla Miller, and Derusha)- first (11:15.00), 400-meter relay (Leah Blanchard, Chloe Fletcher, Tristina Browning, and Rutledge)- second; third in the 800.

Shannon Browning- second in the 100, third in 400; Samantha Dunne- second in the high jump, fifth in the low hurdles; Kayla Miller- third in the 1600, fourth in the 800; Brenda Albrecht- fourth in the 400, fifth in the 200; Chloe Fletcher- fifth in the high hurdles; Tristina Browning- fifth in the long jump.

Cedarville: Kristen Dumanfirst in the high hurdles (17.85), third in the low hurdles; Billie McLeod- first low hurdles (52.07); 400-meter relay (Rosemary Hitchens, Megan Hill, Billie McLeod, and Duman)- first (59.46).

Caitlin Wright- second in the low hurdles and discus; Kara Griffin- second in the 3200-meter dash, fourth in the 1600; Katie Bowlby- second in the long jump; Lindsay McLeod-second in the 400; Kacie Simpson- second in the high jump, fourth in the shot put and discus; Audrey Koster- second in the high jump and fourth in the high and low hurdles; Ashley Sweeney- third in the 800; Jessie Duncan- fifth in the 400; Carissa Sudol- fifth in the discus.

The Eagles' Shauni Rutledge finished first in the shot put and discus.
The Trojans' 1600- and 3200- meter relay teams took second and its 800-meter relay team took third.

Brimley: Rachel Carruthersfirst in the 100- (13.56) and 200- meter dash (28.94); Miranda Reattoir- first in the 400 (1:07.22) second in the 800; Kelly Grahamfirst in the 3200 (13:38.53); the 800-relay (Amber Aikens, Miranda Rousseau, Reattoir, and Carruthers)- first (1:42.00); 1600- meter relay (Amber Aikens, Carruthers, Reattoir, and Rousseau)- first (4:35.30).

Amber Aikens- second in the 200; Miranda Rousseau- second in the high hurdles; Megan Carrickthird in the long jump; Courtney Amble- third in the shot and discus; Sydney Wilson fifth in the shot.

John Troyer won the shot put and discus for the Eagles.
Mackinac Island: Michi Mullings- third in the 100- and 200- meter dash, fifth in the long jump; the 400 relay (Jane Finkel, Shay Mosley, Morgan Brodeur-Bunker, and Mullings)- fourth; Morgan Brodeur-Bunker- fifth in the 800 and 1600.

DeTour: Danielle Weimanfourth in the 100 and 200; Kaley Barbeaux- fifth in the 100.

Cedarville Boys Placed

In 16 Events

Cedarville boys placed in 16 events en route to a 122-point total, followed by the host Eagles with 105 points, Brimley with 62, Mackinac Island with 25, and DeTour with 10.

Cedarville: Jordan Sweeneyfirst in the 800 (2:15.03) and 1600 in (5:06.98); C.J. Paquin-first in the long jump (16'10"), second in the 100, fourth in the 200; Kevin Thompson- first in the high jump (5'4"), fifth in the low hurdles.

Justin Baker- second in the high and low hurdles; Sheldon Tassiersecond in the 1600, third in the 3200; Clayton Meyers- second in the 800; Matt Hansen- third in the high jump, fifth in the long jump; Peter Treleaven- third in the 400; James Mitchell-third in the shot put; Jimmy Welnitz- fourth in the low hurdles, fifth in the high hurdles; Jordan Huff- fourth in the shot put and discus; Jake Wellnitzfourth in the 400; Alex McMakenfourth in the 800, Rex Rohrer- fifth in the 400.

Brimley's Ryan Freedman's (left) time of 24.71 seconds edges out Mackinac Island's Robert Chambers time of 24.94 seconds in the 200-meter dash.
Engadine: Grayson Hood- first in the high hurdles (15.26), 100 (11.54), low hurdles (41.64); John Troyer- first in the shot put (45'6"), discus (136'9"); 400-relay (Stephen Albright, Chris Keller, Phillip Hood, Grayson Hood)- first (48.45).

Chris Keller- second in the high jump, third low hurdles, fourth high hurdles; Daron Emery-second in the 3200, third 1600; Phillip Hood- second in the 400, third in the long jump; Doug Fulton- second in the shot put, fifth discus; Stephen Albright- fourth in the long jump, fifth in the 100 and 200; Michael Bennett- fourth in the 3200, fifth in the 1600; Ron Weger- fifth in the shot.

The Eagles' 800- and 3200- meter relay teams finished third and finished fourth in the 1600-meter relay.

Brimley: Harley Chartrand- first in the 400 (54.62), third 200; Ryan Freedman- first in the 200 (24.71), third in the 100; T.J. McBribe- third in the 800; Jake Baker- third in the discus; Jordan Dillon- third in the high hurdles.

The 800-relay team of Joe Schwiderson, Jordan Dillon, Chartrand, and Freedman finished first (1:42.00).

Mackinac Island: Robert Chambers- second in the 200, long jump; Woody Beardsley- second in the discus, Jeff Roguska- fifth in the 800.

The 1600-meter relay team of Jesse Straight, Roguska, Chambers, Beardsley finished third.

DeTour: Teryn Miller- first in the 3200-meter dash (11:18.42), fourth in the 1600.
As the train passes the track in Engadine, Jordan Sweeney of Cedarville wins the 800-meter run. Earlier that day, he won the 1600- meter run.
