Catherine Gertz

Catherine Gertz, 93, of White Pigeon, a banking officer for 30 years, died Wednesday, May 16, 2007, at Riverview Manor Nursing Home in Three Rivers.

She was born in Hesperia August 30, 1913, to Charles and Hazel Curtis and attended school in Fremont.

She married Robert Gertz in 1976.

Mrs. Gertz worked as an officer of State Savings and Loan of Scottville, retiring in 1977 after 30 years of service. More recently, she lived in St. Ignace in the summers, and spent winters in Florida.

She was a member of the Eastern Star of Scottville and enjoyed traveling abroad and crossword puzzles.

Mrs. Gertz is survived by a son and his family, Jack and Thelma Dawe of Constantine; three stepdaughters and their families, Judy and Jerry Turner of Dayton, Ohio, Linda and Ed Wakeman of Florida, and Barbara Bunting of Indianapolis, Indiana; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, who died in 1998, and a brother, Charles Curtis.

There will be no public services.
