Beatrice Abram Lifelong area resident Beatrice C. Abram of Curtis worked at the United States Defense Department during World War II. Mrs. Abram died Monday morning, May 21, 2007, at her home, surrounded by family. She was 87. She born December 12, 1919, in Germfask, to Edward and Margaret (nee Smith) Tovey. She married Gustav John Abram February 5, 1944, in Potterville. Mrs. Abram was a devoted homemaker and longtime member of St. Timothy's Catholic Church in Curtis, and a member of the Ladies Aide there. She was also a volunteer at the Curtis Museum, and was well known for her carrot cake that was served at local fish dinners. People also loved her strawberry patch, family members said. She enjoyed sewing, most recently sewing lap robes for the sick and homebound. Survivors include her children and their families, Jerry and Diana Abram of Germfask, William and Sharon Abram of Newberry, Matthew and Pam Abram of Hayden, Indiana, Sharon and Bob Storms of Germfask, Sandy and Lynn Lietzke of Blissfield, Margaret Burton Parker of McMillan, Roberta Swan of Curtis, and Mary and Mike Mead of McMillan; 20 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Gerty Boyd of Germfask. Mrs. Abram was preceded in death by her husband, Gustav John; a daughter, Theresa Lambert; three granddaughters; six sisters, and four brothers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, May 25, at 11 a.m. at St. Timothy's Catholic Church in Curtis. Father Tim Hruska will officiate. Friends may call at Beaulieu Funeral Home in Newberry Thursday, May 24, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.. Prayers will be at 5 p.m. Thursday, and also at the church Friday, from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass. The Rite of Committal will follow the service at Riverside Cemetery in Germfask. Beaulieu Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements. |
