Winberg, Bickham, Duman Top Students in Cedarville Class of 2007

Rebecca Bickham and Amy Katherine Winberg are the valedictorians of Cedarville High School's Class of 2007 and Kristen Duman is the salutatorian. All three girls were 2007 Principal's Award Winners, and all have received Presidential Academic Awards.

The three students will lead their class in commencement exercises Sunday, May 27, at 2:30 p.m.

Miss Bickham, the daughter of Gerald "Soap" and Denise "Dee Dee" Bickham of Hessel, has a 4.0 grade point average (GPA) and has been an active member of the Cedarville High School Student Council, National Honor Society, and Cedarville Drama Club. She also has performed with the high school Beginning Addictions Basic Education Studies (BABES) Buddies Troupe, which presents antiaddiction and morality puppet plays to elementary students. She was the Cedarville High School Homecoming queen this year.

She has participated in volleyball, track, and golf and enjoys snowmobiling, skiing, boating, and cooking. She has also served as a member of the Les Cheneaux Youth Advisory Committee.

Amy Winberg
She will study optometry at the University of Michigan.

Miss Winberg, the daughter of Roger and Deanna Winberg of Hessel, has two sisters, Emily, age 15, and Erin, age 13. She has a 4.0 GPA and has been a member of the Cedarville High School Band and Cedarville Drama Club since she was a freshman and is a member of the National Honor Society.

She enjoys playing the piano and clarinet, reading, drawing, and church choir. An accomplished musician, she earned top scores with clarinet at the District and State Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association festivals this spring. She has also served as a Mackinac County 4-H peer mentor with Americorps.

She will attend Adrian College and would like to teach music and English.

Miss Duman, the daughter of Ralph and Kathleen Duman of Cedarville, has three brothers, Ryan, age 19, who was last year's salutatorian and is enrolled in the University of Michigan, Peter, age 15, and Patrick, age 13.

She has participated in Cedarville High School Student Council, National Honor Society, and Drama Club and is a member of the Cedarville track team. Her outside interests include sailing, skiing, and boating, and she has been a member of the Les Cheneaux Youth Advisory Committee.

She will attend the University of Michigan, where she hopes to study law.

The class flower is the star gazer lily and class song is "Free Bird" by Lynyrd Skynyrd. The class motto is "a ship in its harbor is safe, but that is not what ships are built for," by John A. Shedd. Teachers Julie Pitko and Scott Barr are the Class of 2007 advisors.
