Jordan Ernst is valedictorian and Kristen Schmitigal and Kaylynn Portice are salutatorians for the Class of 2007 at Pickford High School.
The son of Lawrence and Jeri Ernst, Mr. Ernst was recently awarded the Principal's Award for Academic Excellence. During his high school years, he participated in band, pep band, yearbook, and Science Olympiad. He has also been a member of the Pickford United Methodist Church Youth Group.
Mr. Ernst plans to earn a degree in chemistry and a career in a related field.
He has two brothers, Travis and Connor.
Kristen Schmitigal, the daughter of Philip Schmitigal and Kathleen Estrada, has been a member of the Stalwart Presbyterian Youth Group, yearbook staff, and National Honor Society. She was awarded the Principal's Award for Academic Excellence, and maintained perfect attendance for three consecutive years. She works part-time at a restaurant and a radio station.
Miss Schmitigal plans to attend the Institute of Production and Recording in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to become a sound engineer/record producer.
She has a younger sister, Rachel.

Kaylynn Portice, the daughter of Calvin and Sharon Portice, has participated in the Noah's Ark 4-H Club, FCCLA, Nazarene Youth Group, State Executive Council, Quiz Bowl, basketball, volleyball, cross country, track, and prom committee.
Miss Portice plans to attend Aquinas College in Grand Rapids to study community leadership and political science. After college graduation, she hopes to work with a charity that will help her give back to the community.
She has one sibling, McKinley.
Graduation will be Saturday, May 26, at 2 p.m. at Pickford High School.
