St. Ignace
By Miriam Blair 643-7994

Patricia and Louis Leveille of St. Ignace welcomed friends to their anniversary party last weekend. They were married May 18, 1957.
The busy weekend is over with family gatherings, but graduations and parties are still going on.

Happy to see Lindean and George Shootser home after a twoweek vacation in Kingston, Tennessee, visiting family. Lindean became captain of a boat. She has her license, and is very proud.

Birthday wishes to Jeff Tamlyn June 9 and Jack Fenlon, who will turn the "Big 80" June 11.

Destiny Stenberg, six-year-old daughter of Dan Blair of St. Ignace, was graduated from kindergarten Wednesday, May 23, from Soo Hill Elementary School near Escanaba.

What a pleasant call I received from Bunny Rickley, who is excited to have her grandson, John Ross Closs, home for a week to attend the high school graduation of his sister, Chelsea. John Ross is stationed in Baghdad, Iraq. They will have a family gathering at the home of Kathy and Cory Peterson. Joining them will be Marsha and Don Rickley along with their children, Taylor Rose and Abigail Grace, of Toledo, Ohio, and Aunt Alice Switlicki.

Burial for Louis Carlton will take place Saturday, May 26, at Hessel. Louis died December 26, 2006, at age 29 in a traffic accident in Johannesburg. His obituary was printed in The St. Ignace News January 4. He leaves behind his mother and her family, Lynn and Joe LaDuke of Baldwin; his father, Robert Carlton of Iowa; his stepfather and his family, Charles and Cathy Campbell of St. Ignace; two brothers and their families; an uncle and his family, and several cousins. Louis has one son, Brandon Carlton, who resides with his mother, Danielle Rickley. Louis spent quite a few years growing up in St. Ignace.

Addison Paige Grulke, infant daughter of Dawn and Matt Grulke, was baptized Sunday, May 20, at Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Houghton. Attending the service were grandparents Michele and Wayne Pemble of St. Ignace and Jane and Bill Grulke of Perry. Also attending were great-grandparents Bernice and Stanley Bickham of St. Ignace and Shirley Canas of Brown City, as well as Aunt Patty Pemble.
