Fallen Soldiers Honored at Cedarville, Pickford

To commemorate fallen servicemen, the veterans and Law- White Ladies Auxiliary placed wreaths, flags, and symbolic flowers at memorials in Cedarville and Pickford that day.
Stan Kennedy of Pickford American Legion Post 323 (left) addresses the crowd assembled at Glen Gough Memorial Park in Pickford Monday, May 28, during Memorial Day observances there. The Law-White Veterans of Foreign Wars and Ladies Auxiliary, and Pickford Middle and High School Band also participated in the ceremony. "Once again we are assembled to honor our glorious dead," Mr. Kennedy said. "A thousand battles of land, sea, and air echo their valiant deeds."
Ayden Ross of Pickford, 3, shows his patriotic spirit at the Cedarville Memorial Day service Monday, May 28, at Cedar Cemetery. He attended the service with his mother, Amy Fireck, to watch his grandmother, Christine Ross, president of the Law-White Ladies Auxiliary, participate in services. His father, Chad Fireck, serves in the United States Navy on the USS Princeton. Both of his great-grandfathers served in the United States military, as well.
