Brendan Baker recently earned several hockey trophies for the 2006-07 season. He is the son of Nick and Dawn Baker and grandson of Roger and Elaine Horn of St. Ignace.
Starting the season at five years old, the youngest player on the Gladwin Mites hockey team, he was awarded the second place trophy for the Shamrock Festival Tournament, third place trophy for the Get into the Cold Tournament, and a GAHA Trophy for the Gladwin Mites Parkway Plastics Team.
Mr. Baker played right wing, center, and defense. During the tourneys he earned two penalties so the opposition wouldn't score, and five assists. He earned the winning assist with Drew Cantrell at the Shamrock Festival against the Mount Clemens Wild.
