Hello, everyone. We got some needed rain earlier this week.

The Engadine Historical Society, Freeman Hastings House, and Fenske Log House Museums, located on West Melville Street in Engadine, are open every Tuesday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Everyone is welcome to visit.

Newberry Water and Light customers may want to know that the flushing of the system will be Monday, June 11, instead of the originally scheduled date of Monday, June 4.

The Luce-Mackinac Genealogical Society will meet Thursday, June 7, at 1:30 p.m. at the Forest Home Cemetery.

There will be bingo Thursday, June 7, at the Newton Township Hall in Gould City. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., with bingo starting at 7 p.m. Players must be 18 years old.

The Newberry Eagles Club will have a fish fry Friday, June 8, from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the club on M-28 in Newberry.

The Hulbert American Legion Post 393 will have a fish fry Friday, June 8, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the post.

There will be a car wash Saturday, June 9, at 10 a.m. at the M-Bank parking lot in Newberry. Proceeds will benefit the youth of God's Country Cooperative Parish for their mission trip.

Seney National Wildlife Refuge's 18th Annual Children's Fishing Day will be Saturday, June 9. This event is open to children ages 1 through 17. Registration begins at 9 a.m. at the visitor center. Fish can be registered from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. A fish dinner for participants and their families will follow at no charge. A limited number of bait and rods will be available for use.

The Curtis Garden Club will host its annual plant swap Monday, June 11, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Curtis Park Center, rain or shine. Bring plants to swap, or add new plants to your garden.

The Diabetic Support Group will meet Thursday, June 14, from noon to 2 p.m. in the Huron Conference Room at Helen Newberry Joy Hospital. Lunch will be provided. Speaker JoAnn Collins will present "The Journey of Diabetes Diagnosis and the Importance of Taking Control of Diabetes for Healthy Living."

Thursday, June 14, is Flag Day.

The annual meeting of the Engadine Historical Society will be Thursday, June 14, at 7 p.m. at the Freeman Hastings House in Engadine.

Moto-X races will be held in Newberry Saturday, June 16, and Sunday, June 17. Practice starts at 10 a.m., and races start around noon. Entry fee is $5 per person per day, and $20 per class entry fee for racing. For more information, call (906) 293-9330.
