Rexton-Garnet The smell of lilacs are filling the air- what a sweet smell, and how quickly they will disappear. Over Memorial Day weekend the cottages, cabins, and mobile homes seemed to have four wheelers, dirt bikes, and grills at each of them. The weather cooperated, for the most part. Commencement ceremonies are set for Engadine High School Friday, June 8. Graduation open houses are in full swing. We managed to stop by Lewie Mullins' in St. Ignace, then high tailed it to reach Engadine in time for Grayson Hood's, and Sunday we said hello to all the friends and neighbors gathered at the home of Nicole Benoit. So nice to see Brad and Jackie Butkovich and their son, Owen, who traveled back to see Brad's folks, Art and Peggy, for the weekend. Open houses this weekend will include the Derusha cousins, Elicia and David. Joining the rest of the family for a birthday celebration for their mother, Evelyn Burgess, were Leon and Brenda Derusha and their grandson, Vaughn, from Brimley, along with Jerry and Susan Derusha and girls, and Yvonne Maison and kids, as well as John and Louella Snow, Dave and Linda Livermore, Gary Burgess, Steve Livermore, and grill master Dale Burgess. Condolences to Nadine Garavaglia on the loss of her sister, Vivian. The Hudson Township board meeting will be Thursday, June 7, at 7 p.m. at the town hall. Birthday wishes to Phyllis Gouza and Bob Quinn and Carolyn Paquin Orth, who celebrated May 28, my sister-in-law, Evelyn Burgess, May 31, our niece, Samantha Maison, June 3, soon-tobe graduate Nicole Benoit June 5, Gary Moore June 6, and on June 10, Shelly Nowak, Bobby Wheaton, and Bob Nowak. Anniversary wishes to our former neighbors, Bob and Candy Aldrich, June 5. |
