Boat School Site Taking Shape at Cedarville
Visiting members of the WaterWonderland Chapter of the Antique and Classic Boat Society tour the new Great Lakes Boat Building School building in Cedarville May 5, while it is still under construction. Boat society members (from left) Margie Denoyer of Cedarville, Jeff Rogers of Cedarville and Grand Rapids, boat school director Dave Lesh, Gerry Vande Vusse of Williamston, Chuck Denoyer of Cedarville, Bob Smith of Cedarville (also on the school's board), and Jack Rogers of Cedarville and Grand Rapids (pointing up at a cupola) get a rare glimpse of the structural skeleton of the building, including the flooring foundation, electrical conduits, and the cavernous interior that will house workshops, classrooms, and viewing areas for visitors. | | Rapid progress is being made on the Great Lakes Boat Building School, reported Mike Davis, a school board member who is overseeing construction. The siding, roofing materials, and windows have been installed, and concrete was poured at the base of the building two weeks ago. |
