Last fall, the Arts Council of Les Cheneaux restructured to form a group of donors, who direct their money to new unendowed and endowed funds within the Les Cheneaux Community Foundation. The council's advisory board includes Judy Mock, Gerry Adams, Jerry Reid, Linda Henderson, Peggy Patrick, Carol Hubbard, and Sue Risher.

Under the new structure, donations, rather than membership fees, will be collected, and donors will be considered part of the council. A $20 annual donation is suggested. Council members can exhibit their works at the Les Cheneaux Community Library in Cedarville in July. Photography, paintings, original needlework, jewelry, and pottery can be exhibited at the show. Call Peggy Patrick at (906) 484-3069 to participate.

The council will give two scholarships to qualifying Les Cheneaux Community Schools students this spring, including a $1,000 college scholarship and a $1,000 Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp scholarship.

Send information requests or donations to Les Cheneaux Community Foundation, Arts Council of Les Cheneaux, P.O. Box 536, Cedarville, Michigan 49719.

The continuing mission of the nonprofit group is to spread fine arts appreciation and education throughout the community.
