DeTour Framing Shop Adds New Art Gallery

A framing shop in DeTour has recently been remodeled and expanded into an art gallery offering the works of northern Michigan artists. Claire Schultz, owner of Harbor View Framing and Art Gallery with her husband, William Schultz, said they moved the store from Cedarville to DeTour about four years ago, and this spring decided to offer prints and original artwork in the shop.

The gallery will handle paintings, pottery, original, signed, and limited edition prints, and photographs from both well known and newly established local artists.

A particularly popular item this spring has been flower planters crafted in the shape of specific Great Lakes freighters, such as the Anderson, Mrs. Schultz said.

Mat cutting and custom framing are offered as well.
