Sharon Danielia Graves of Drummond Island was a licensed practical nurse who previously worked as a nurse for the State of Michigan at Southern Michigan Prison in Jackson. In 2002, she moved to Drummond Island permanently, after vacationing there for more than 20 years.
She died Friday, June 15, 2007, at age 61, at her home on Drummond Island, following a lengthy battle with breast cancer.
She was born December 6, 1945, in Albion, to Daniel Stanley and Kathryn Marie (nee Thomas) Hale.
She was graduated from Western High School in Jackson, and later earned a nursing degree from Jackson Community College.
She enjoyed boating, snowmobiling, horseback riding, and flower gardening.
Mrs. Graves is survived by her husband, Dale Graves; one daughter, Sheila Pahl of Drummond Island; two sons and their families, Martin Weiman of Jackson and Steven Weiman of Albion; two stepsons and their families, Alan and Dianna Graves of Charlotte and Kevin Graves of Potterville; nine grandchildren, Samantha, Savanna, Austin, Danielle, Mark and Tim Weiman, Sydney Pahl, Steven Graves, and Keegan Bieda; her mother, Kathryn Belavitz of Jackson, and three sisters and their families, Penny and Ron Midena of Jackson, Wendy and Todd Baldwin of Hanover, and Sue and Marty Hands of Jackson.
She was preceded in death by her father and by one sister, Jenny Valdez.
Visitation was Tuesday, June 19, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at St. Florence Catholic Church on Drummond Island, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 p.m. at the church. Father Sebastian Chacko was the celebrant.
Burial will be in Drummond Island Cemetery on Drummond Island.
Reamer Galer Funeral Home of Pickford assisted the family with arrangements.
