Dave Price of CBS Collects Footage of Straits Area

Dave Price (right) weather anchor for the CBS Early Show, accepts a key to the City of St. Ignace Friday, June 22. Standing next to him (from right) are Kim Gustafson, manager of Mackinac Grille restaurant, Mark Sposito, this year's St. Ignace Ambassador of the Year, and Mayor Paul Grondin. The key presentation was organized by the Chamber of Commerce, in association with the Visitors Bureau and City Hall.
Weatherman Dave Price of the CBS television network will be filming live for The Early Show Thursday, August 23, on Mackinac Island. It will be one of several Thursday features filmed throughout the country, in a series called the "Great American Vacation."

Last weekend, Mr. Price and a film crew visited the area to create stock footage to add to the live show in August.

Mr. Price dressed in period attire at Fort Mackinac, shot a cannon, made fudge at Murdick's Fudge Kitchen, rode a horse, and took a turn riding a bike through town. Afterward, he made a quick visit to St. Ignace, and then filmed the Mackinac Bridge via boat before watching a sunset on the Straits of Mackinac.
