Walk, Evashevski Take Part in Exchange director for Michigan State University (MSU) Extension, and Deb Evashevski, St. Ignace Downtown Development director, are among nine people from across the state who are participating in a rural development program in County Mayo in Ireland from June 22 to July 3. The program's goal is to advance the number of community and economic development initiatives in rural County Mayo, Ireland. The project, funded by a federal grant, coordinates study exchange tours to Ireland and to Michigan and involves MSU faculty, Extension specialists, and community leaders. Participants will each be responsible for developing a case study on a specific topic. At the end of the two-year project, the goal is to develop case studies and a curriculum handbook to use in classrooms and in communities. |
