'From Sea to Shining Sea' Exhibit Ongoing at Mackinaw City Museum

An exhibit, "From Sea to Shining Sea: 200 Years of Charting America's Coasts," opened Thursday, June 21, at the Icebreaker Mackinaw Maritime Museum (IMMM) in Mackinaw City.

The exhibit, which will be shown in maritime museums, ports, aquaria, nature centers, schools, libraries, and lighthouses across the country, celebrates the history, accomplishments, and scientific contributions of the nation's first science agency. The exhibit's 20 colorful posters are illustrated with photographs, charts, and artwork form the Survey of the Coast's archives.

Every day, mariners use the resources of National Oceanic and Atmospheric Adminisrtation's (NOAA) Navigation Services to safely navigate U.S. coastal waters.

Ship tours at the Mackinaw Museum are available now, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily, from June through August.
