Famous Clydesdale Horses To Visit Straits Area in July

The eight-horse hitch Budweiser Clydesdales will visit St. Ignace and Cedarville Tuesday, July 24, through Monday, July 30.

The horses will be here as part of the 50th anniversary celebration of the Mackinac Bridge. Stalls will be erected at Little Bear East Arena and people will be welcome to visit the horses during their stay, said Erica Mattson, coordinator for the City of St. Ignace Recreation Department.

The horse team will be in Cedarville Thursday afternoon, July 26, and will make a ceremonial beer delivery to Cedarville businesses. They will start at the Cedarville Foods parking lot, then move east on M-134 to Beach Street, where they will turn the corner and continue downtown to Hodeck Street to make deliveries. From Hodeck they will head west to Meridian Street, and north on Meridian to M-134. They will travel west on M-134 to make deliveries and eventually end the trip at Ang-Gio's Restaurant.

The team can be seen at the Little Bear East Arena and Community Center Tuesday, July 24, through Monday, July 30, and will also visit Mackinac Island during their trip to the Straits of Mackinac.
