Cedarville Bay Boat Parade Will Be Saturday
Best Costumes, Light Designs To Earn Prizes

The second annual Venetianstyle Lighted Boat Parade and Costume Party will be this Saturday, July 7, at 9 p.m. Parade participants will line up in Cedarville Bay and travel to the Hessel Marina.

Everyone is welcome, and lighted boats and costumes are not necessary. For those who want to decorate, lights and decorations of all types are encouraged and will be judged. Residents are also encouraged to decorate their boathouses and docks for the event. Awards will be given for the best costumes, decorated and lighted boats, and lighted docks and boathouses.

In the event of inclement weather Saturday, the event will be rescheduled to Sunday, July 8, at the same time.

Cedarville resident Joe Eger and other volunteers and businesses started the event last year to encourage Les Cheneaux Islands residents to light their boathouses and docks to create a festive atmosphere during the summer and make the area more inviting for visitors.

Call Mr. Eger at (906) 484- 2511 or Al Hansen at (906) 484- 2056 to register or get more information about the contest.
