Bike and Hike Fundraiser Will Be Sunday at Hessel

The first Jim Bohn Bike and Hike fundraiser for the Cancer Research Foundation will be Sunday, July 8, at 10 a.m. in Hessel.

Named in memory of Cedarville resident Jim Bohn, the event will start and end at the Islander Bar in Hessel, at 134 Pickford Avenue. Mr. Bohn succumbed to cancer at the age of 63 in 2006.

Registration will begin at the Islander at 9:30 a.m., and the event will follow. Participants can either ride a bicycle along a 10-mile course, or run and walk five or 10 miles. The course will start at the corner of Pickford Avenue and Cedar Road, continue west on Cedar, then west on highway M- 134 to Point Brulee Road, and then back to the Islander.

The $25 entry fee includes a commemorative T-shirt.
