Mammography Accreditation for Straits Hospital Extended 3 Years

Mackinac Straits Hospital has been awarded a three-year term of accreditation in mammography as the result of a recent survey by the American College of Radiology (ACR).

The hospital has offered mammography services since 2002. Karen Myers is the hospital's certified mammography technician.

The Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) requires that before a facility can legally perform mammography, it must be certified. It must first meet applicable MQSA requirements, including those established by its accreditation body.
