America's Birthday
Celebrated Across Eastern U.P.
 | | St. Ignace: Independence Day would not be complete without an American icon such as Uncle Sam, portrayed by Leonard Thomas of St. Ignace. The float, from Central Savings Bank, was voted Most Patriotic by the parade coordinators. Pictured at right is Wendy Baril. |

 | | Cedarville: Infants and children up to four years old were the first group in the foam pile made by the Clark Township Fire Department during Cedarville's Independence Day celebration Wednesday, July 4. Children had the chance to dig through piles of fluffy soap bubbles for change donated by local banks. Afterward, they could wash off and play in a nearby sprinkler set up by the firefighters. |
