Boating Safety Classes Offered

The Mackinac County Sheriff's The second class will be Department is offering free boating safety classes for those older than 12 years of age.

The first class will be Thursday, July 19, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Mackinac Island. Interested persons may call the Mackinac Island school at (906) 843-3377 to register. Thursday, July 26, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at LaSalle High School in St. Ignace. To register for the St. Ignace class, contact the Sheriff's Department at 643-1911.

Participants are asked to bring a lunch. Completion of the course will earn each participant a boating safety certificate.
