Nature Preserve Trip Planned for August 4

The Nature Conservancy is offering a field trip to its Carl A. Gerstacker Nature Preserve at Dudley Bay Saturday, August 4, at 10 a.m.

Field trips cost $10 per person or $25 per family and registration must be made by calling (517) 316-0300, extension 206.

Nadine Cain, a longtime Conservancy volunteer, will lead the hike and provide an overview of the two recently acquired small islands added to the Carl A. Gerstacker Nature Preserve.

The scenic trail includes beach, wetlands, and mixed deciduous forest as the hike proceeds from Lake Huron to Little Trout Lake.

The 879-acre preserve includes more than four miles of Lake Huron shoreline in Mackinac and Chippewa counties.
